Panton Chair
The Panton Chair, created by Verner Panton between 1959 and 1969, is a classic in the history of furniture design. Originally conceived in 1960, the chair was developed for serial production in collaboration with Vitra in 1967. It was the first single-piece plastic chair with no back legs or joints. Since its market launch, it has gone through several production phases. Only since 1999 has it been possible to manufacture the chair in accordance with the original concept — using durable, dyed-through plastic with a matte finish. The comfort of this piece comes from the combination of its cantilever structure, anthropomorphic shape, and slightly flexible material. It can be used individually or in groups and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The Panton Chair has received numerous international design awards and forms part of several museum collections worldwide. Due to its expressive form, it has become an icon of 20th-century design.
