Eames House Whale

In their home, Charles and Ray Eames surrounded themselves with a vast collection of folk art and objects gathered during their travels, always drawn to pieces with strong design and character. One of the most iconic objects in their collection was the Eames House Whale, an anonymous piece of American folk art that held a permanent place in the Eames Office and frequently appeared in photographs, including early images of the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman. Reproduced by Vitra in a smaller scale, the Eames House Whale is hand-painted and celebrates the playful spirit of the original piece.
