Rayonnage Mural
Jean Prouvé’s Jean Prouvé Rayonnage Mural (1936) is a wall-mounted shelving system originally designed for the École Nationale Professionnelle in Metz, France. Common in early 20th-century interiors, this design features two vertical wall brackets made of folded, lacquered steel, whose streamlined form—reminiscent of an aircraft or ship rudder—is a recurring motif in Prouvé’s work. The brackets include precise horizontal slots that support solid wood shelves, available in light or dark oak. The contrast between industrial steel and natural wood creates a functional yet sculptural piece.
Dimensions: H 70 × W 118 × D 25 cm.
